Last, we went to Makers Mark. Shelly and Liz dipped there own bottles in the wax and then we went on the tour of the grounds. It is very pretty out there, it is about 45 min. from Louisville. It was interesting to see the process. When the tour was over we got to sample the bourbon. You know I gave mine to someone else, I can't drink that nasty stuff.

Then on to the Newport Aquarium which was about 10 minutes from the cathedral. We all had a good time there. We got to pet the sharks and stingrays and some other creature that I can't remember it's name and Austin and Audrey fed nectar to the birds. They had some cool looking fish that we had never seen before. Was worth the trip. Oh, and the penguins put on a show for us.

This is the cathedral that we went to up by Cincinnati. It was BEAUTIFUL!! They have the largest stain glass window in America and the second largest in the world. The pictures don't do it justice, they came out really dark, but trust me, it was awesome to see.

These were taken at Churchill Downs. Audrey always has a great time there. Just in case some of you don't know, Audrey is in LOVE with horses. We let the kids bet on one race and, wouldn't you know, Austin picked the winner and won $16.

Here are some of the pictures that I took at Slugger Museum. The kids had fun with the life size figures. It was really hot in the factory but was neat to see.
Ed's sister, Shelly, and her friend, Liz, came to visit in June. I think we did just about every thing to do while visiting Louisville. We went to Churchill Downs, the Slugger Museum, Falls of the Ohio, the Newport Aquarium, a cathedral, Makers Mark, and to a casino. It was a lot of fun but I have never been so tired in all of my life.
I wanted to create this blog for you, our family and friends, to be able to keep up with our crazy lives. It is so hard to feel connected to those you love from hundreds of miles away. Hope you enjoy.
